UNCED : United Nations Conference on Environment and Development Earth Summit
The United Nations Conference on the Environment and Development was held in Rio in 1992. It was the first ever to include a diverse of delegates from both developed and developing countries. Countries with representation included Samoa, Tuvalu, United States of America, Denmark and the Solomon Islands. Although some countries did not sign the Treaty, small island countries like Samoa signed alongside some its neighbouring islands, Solomon Islands and Tuvalu.
