This handbook is for farmers, field and extension workers and educators in Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu and helps strengthen food security int he face of climate change by reporting on variety if traditional and innovative farming technologies. It encourages farmers to think about and plan for the effects of climate change and other challenges to their communities.

Hands Up for Hygiene! is a teaching manual to help educators introduce good hygiene behaviour in schools in the Pacific. It is designed for a younger audience (upper primary school students), but can be tailored to suit secondary school students and the wider community. This report provides an update of all data in TREDS and accommodating the recent data received for 2011-2012 period, during this reporting period (2011 June-2012 September). The tag inventory for Vanuatu records all tags receive form SPREP and details of damage and distribution of tags. The tag inventory records all flipper tags used for turtle monitoring in Vanuatu.

This RAP focused on understanding how Western Pacific Island communities perceive food security in the context of climate change. Specifically, it aimed to understand how communities perceive their ability to adapt their food systems to be resilient to changing environmental factors. It found that communities perceive a large range of challenges to food security, including decreasing resources and resource diversity, rapid population growth, ‘false seasons’ and socio-cultural inequalities.

Not only are South Pacific marine environments thought to be among the most unique in the world, but South Pacific communities also rely on these environments for their livelihoods. However these marine habitats are also under the threat from pollution, climate and overfishing. This manual aims to support teachers to plan lessons around marine conservation. The educational philosophy is to foster a sense of responsibility among students, such that they are able to participate in making decisions that impact their environment.

The research from this project helps NGOs and policy makers understand how widespread logging in the areas under study have created both short and long term negative effects and provides a basis for education and the creation of policies to mobilize communities.
