Before the covid-19 pandemic, tourism was growing faster than most other economic sectors.. There are two striking parts of that growth. Visitors form emerging economies now represent almost half of international arrivals and ecotourism and sustainable tourism are the hottest draws.

Ocean acidification is the ‘other’ effect of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. CO2 combines with seawater to produce carbonic acid, acidifying the seawater and depleting the seawater of carbonate that many forms of sea life need to build their shells.

These missing wetlands were part of our planet’s life support system, and big pressures are still facing the wetlands that remain. Mangroves, marshes, seagrasses, and coral reefs generate wealth for our communities and treasures for our cultural traditions.
