Le « Paysage Culturel Taputapuātea » (PCT), inscrit sur la liste du Patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO, est le site retenu pour l’opération de « Mise en œuvre d’actions de lutte contre les Espèces Exotiques Envahissantes (EEE) et d’actions de gestion de la biodiversité ». In the era of climate change, having access to resources is key to building climate resilience. However in many countries significant socio-economic inequalities between men and women still limit or prevent women's assess to education, property, financial assets, technology, political decision-making and other valuable resources.

The effects of climate change and increasing extreme weather events on the oceans are key challenges for small-scale fisheries. This study highlights some of the economic as well as non-economic losses and damages associated with these effects.

SPREP is implementing the By-catch and Integrated Ecosystem Management (BIEM) Initiative, supporting ocean resource management and species conservation in the Pacific region. BIEM is Key Result Area 5 of the Pacific-European Union Marine Partnership (PEUMP) programme funded by the European Union and the Government of Sweden. The science is clear: the biodiversity crisis, the climate crisis and the health crisis are interdependent. Political leaders from across the world, representing 80+ countries and the European Union, have also recognised this connection in the Leaders’ Pledge for Nature.1 Climate change accelerates the destruction of the natural world through extreme weather events such as droughts, flooding and wildfires. Biodiversity loss and unsustainable use of nature, driven by intense anthropogenic activities, in turn, reduce resilience to and further drive climate change.
