The revision and updating of Kiribati National Invasive Species Strategies and Action Plan KNISSAP 2015-2020 is genuinely the outcome of collaborative effort by ECD as an implementing agency through the technical guidance of SPREP and UNEP. We would sincerely like to thank GEF PAS for its ongoing and prompt financial support for Kiribati through the regional initiative and provision for reviewing and updating this strategic and action plan. MELAD is grateful to acknowledge Dr Ray Pierce of the EcoOceania Pty Ltd in Australia for facilitation, guidance and drafting of this document through consultative workshops with Invasive Alien Species Committee-IASC at Tarawa and Kiritimati. Regional organisations ply a central role in coordinating regional climate change adaptation responses across small island developing states (SIDS), 58 countries that are particularly vulnerable to climate change and its impacts. The effectiveness of these organisations in coordinating adaptation efforts is underexplored in the academic literature, and this paper helps to fill the gap. By developing the Framework for Assessing Regional Organisations Coordinating Climate Change Adaptation, it qualitatively assesses the adaptation-related inputs, projects/programs and outputs of the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre, the Secretariat of the Pacific Community and the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme

The Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) agreed in 2008 on the need to identify Ecologically or Biologically Significant Marine Areas (EBSAs) in the world's oceans to focus future conservation and management efforts.

The objective of this study is to build institutional capacity and knowledge to enable Tuvalu to better plan and manage the impacts of climate change on migration.

Biological control of introduced weeds in the 22 Pacific Island countries and territories (PICTs) began in 1911, with the lantana seed feeding fly introduced into Fiji and New Caledonia form Hawaii. To date, a total of 62 agents have been deliberately introduced into the PICTs to control 21 weed species in 17 countries.

Solomon Islands forest life gives an overview of the terrestrial environments of the Solomon Islands, their ecology important species and some of the key threats they face. The Solomon Islands are one of the most biologically rich archipelagos on earth. Huge proportions of the animals and plants found there are endemic, meaning they are found no where else on earth. These species are closely linked to the culture livelihoods and well beings of people.

The project fulfilled its brief to produce a 3-dimensional model covering the entire Taveuni Island and surrounding iQoliqoli boundaries. The model demostrates the breadth of Islanders knowledge about protected areas, agriculture, tourism, key species of flora and fauna, and the marine and terrestrial environments. Interesting inclusions were the locations of the tagimaucia flowering plant, several waterfalls and the Taveuni Forest Reserve - all key elements to be considered in the PEBACC process.

The government in collaboration with the Aleipata District (eleven villages) and IUCN developed a management plan - the last update being for the period 2008-2010 (MNRE 2008) - with the aim to guide the protection and conservation of the marine environment of the Aleipata District.

The overall objective of this project was to support governments of nine Pacific smaller island states.
