The SOP can be customised to the local context, and used to guide the effective operation of a small facility, to ensure the efficient recycling of organic material into compost for soil enrichment. The SOP can be used by households, communities, and small-scale fruit and vegetable growers seeking to establish a compost site, using simple tools and manual labour.

This report assesses the gaps and opportunities for monitoring and evaluating the Framework for Resilient Development in the Pacific (FRDP). The FRDP is a regional voluntary action plan that Pacific island country (PIC) leaders endorsed in 2016 to integrate climate and disaster risk governance for sustainable development. This report begins with an overview of the study's purpose and background. A review of policy briefs and policies from the region and elsewhere framed the identification of gaps and opportunities for monitoring and evaluating the FRDP.

The context in which PICTs import, produce, use and manage energy in the 2020s and beyond will differ from 2010 when the previous 10 year framework began. The region faces even more serious challenges, including: severe climate change and impacts on energy infrastructure; continued heavy dependence on petroleum fuel during a period of expected of global energy market transformation and potential dislocation; continued uncertainties and negative social and economic impacts due to COVID-19 and potentially, further pandemics, and the extension of affordable clean energy services to communities currently poorly served

Nature and biodiversity are being lost worldwide, and the capacity of ecosystems to provide vital contributions to people is deteriorating. Most of the Aichi Biodiversity Targets for 2020 under the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) have not been achieved, and, if the trends of the last decades persist, biodiversity will continue to decline. Policies, commitments and actions aimed at halting further loss immediately and restoring biodiversity and ecosystems are needed more than ever, in order to still be able to achieve the agreed 2050 Vision of the CBD of living in harmony with nature.
