In all countries, economic growth comes with the loss of natural capital, our ultimate sources of wealth. Therefore, the challenge is combining growth with preserving our ecosystem to secure more prosperous Asia and the Pacific.

Underpinning all statistics and analyses is the Asia Development Bank's Miltiregional Input-Output database which contains national and bilateral flows for 62 national economies.

The report demonstrated the need for updated approached to aid for trade in the region to support effective participation in such agreement, undertake reforms and promote access to digitalisation in ways that promote inclusive development and deliver the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable development.

The pandemic further widened existing inequalities and vulnerabilities. Evidence also shows the reversal of hard-won gains in poverty reduction in several countries in the region. All this is happening alongside intensifying environmental degradation, biodiversity loss, and te continued onslaught of natural hazards and climate change.

Promote safety and health at work. Promote fair treatment, non-discrimination, and equal opportunity of project workers. Project workers with particular emphasis on vulnerable workers.

Climate change and natural disasters can have lasting consequences on livelihood, economies and fiscal balances - spanning immediate reconstruction costs and fiscal shocks to long-term halts in tourism and agriculture economies. Although continues in the Pacific are the most exposed globally to these impacts, they have severely limited resources with which to prepare for and respond to them. This publication anazlyses the vulnerability of Pacific economies to climate change and disaster events, and identifies existing resources for responding to economic shocks. It also considers measures that public and private sector stakeholders can take develop new tools to increase economic and fiscal resilience across the Pacific region.
