This report assesses the implementation of the UNESCO World Heritage (WH) Convention in Oceania in relation to natural and mixed WH sites. The report outlines information on the WH Convention which provides for the identification and protection of the most outstanding natural and cultural areas on the planet, referred to as sites as "Outstanding Universal Value" (OUV).

This book is a major intellectual breakthrough. It offers a reasoned meditation on how competition law and policy could be made more relevant for developing economies in Asia and the Pacific. The starting point of its analysis is that competition cannot be an end in itself but must contribute to the economic development of developing economies.

These guideline will serve as a vital resource for auditors and assessors alike, providing clear instructions and methodologies for conducting environmental audits, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing sustainable solutions through industry support.

The State of Environment Report provides the latest check on the threats, the state, and the impacts on Vanuatu’s environment and the response in mitigating the threats and managing human actions. The report is a legal requirement under the Environmental Management and Conservation Act No. 12 of 2002, which has been amended to the Environmental Protection and Conservation Act [CAP 283]. The assessment is on seven thematic areas and thirty-five indicators and sub-indicators. The process for the assessment looks at the drivers, pressure, state, impact and the response to each of the indicators. National consultations with key local stakeholders provided the data and information, as well as validation of the information that is presented in the State of Environment Report.

The Fourth Executive Board Meeting was held in hybrid format from 4 to 6 September 2024.

The Fifty-Third Pacific Islands Forum was held in Nuku’alofa, Tonga from 26 – 30 August 2024 and was attended by Heads of State and Government of Australia, the Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of Fiji, French Polynesia, Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Republic of Nauru, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and the Republic of Vanuatu. The Republic of Kiribati was represented at Ministerial level.

The South Pacific economies of the Cook Islands, Samoa, and Tonga are highly vulnerable to the adverse effects of climate change, including increased intensity of rainfall and tropical storms, rising sea levels, and droughts; disasters triggered by natural hazard including earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and tsunamis; and health emergencies

The National Environment Sector Plan (NESP) 2022/2023 – 2026/2027 updates the NESP 2017-2021. It is based on the most recent State of the Environment (SOE) assess- ment documented in 2023, and lessons learned from the previous NESP.

The KIEP 2021-2036 continues our drive away from the old sector-based approaches and towards more integrated, "source-to-sea" and "island-to-island" approach to environmental management; mainstreaming all of the principles of ecological sustainability; ensuring greater equity in the sharing of environmental benefits, resurrecting, resorting and applying the ancient wisdom of traditional ecological knowledge, and seeking to build a more sustainable, circular, green-blue economy.

Leaders expressed their deep appreciation to the Honourable Mark Brown, Prime Minister of the Cook Islands, and the Government and people of the Cook Islands, for the warm hospitality extended to their delegations. Leaders commended the preparations and facilitation of the 52nd Pacific Islands Forum, which enabled Leaders and participants to hold constructive discussions and contributed to the overall success of the 52nd Pacific Islands Forum.
