This comprehensive National Assessment Report (NAR) was prepared by Papua New Guinea (PNG) for the global review of the Barbados Programme of Action (BPoA), originally adopted in 1994 as part of the global conference on sustainable development in small island states The report fulfills one of three purposes: to evaluate PNG's progress in implementing the BPoA; to identify key challenges and constraints; and to propose actions for overcoming these obstacles It serves both national accountability and contributes to a regional/global assessment of SIDS commitments under the Programme.

This nearly 70-page EIA, prepared for the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP), investigates the Ok Tedi copper–gold mine’s impact on Papua New Guinea’s Fly–Ok Tedi River system. The areas of these people live in are environmentally and culturally rich. People are crying out for more access to services, such as medical care and education. The challenge for this people is to make decision that will benefit the community without affecting the environment.

Look at a PNG project for ecological sustainable development. If introducing rabbit species will bring more food to the people or more damage to the environment. An NZ company thats developing fridges that won't harm the earth's ozone layer, good news for the Pacific already copying plenty of the sun's powerful ray. This good produce could also contribute to less global warming. Solomon islands where world fund nature, is looking at logging for sustainable development.
