The Marine Studies Centre in Tasmania was funded by the Schools Commission with assistance from State Government and the Local Council and Community of Tasmania. It's purpose was to provide first hand experience of the sea and it's marine animals. Field trips are carried out where several activities such as water sampling, navigational techniques, and on-hands exercises, are relayed to eager and anxious school children. The giant clam in Tonga is facing extinction at an alarming rate due to overfishing by the community who are largely unaware of the consequences. In an attempt to promote greater public awareness and respect for this marine animal, the Ministry of Fisheries in this video illustrates how community effort, cooperation, and awareness can help rejuvenate the growth of the giant clam within Tonga. Activities such as schools and community workshops are carried out as well as the appointment of personnel to oversee the development of giant clam sanctuaries within several communities.

Addresses consequences of French Nuclear Testing on Moruroa Atoll. Whilst Greenpeace was adamant in it's campaign against French Testing, many were jailed for opposing the tests, and Greenpeace itself was occasionally denied access into Tahiti by the French. As Government leaders of many island countries debated over the issue of a Treaty prohibiting further testing in the Pacific, the people of French Polynesia were simply calling for an end to French Nuclear Testing on their island, ending years of suffering from the effects of such tests.

Filmed in the Solomons, Vanuatu, and Papua New Guinea, "Em i Graun Yumi" highlights the work of Sei Akson Tim in the Solomon Islands, Wan Smol Bag Theatre in Vanuatu, and Raun Isi Theatre with the National Theatre of Papua New Guinea. Environment is the key theme that runs through the video. In Vanuatu, it looks at the endangered Koroliko; a seabird that is hunted for food and how responsible people wish to ensure it's survival. In the Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea, we see theatre bringing a better understanding of the consequences of agreements between communities and logging projects operated by foreign companies. The objective is to bring popular theatre to the attention of people in the Pacific who may wish to take up the tool of theatre and use it. It has also provided an opportunity for people in the region to describe the issues which most affect them, which we hope will provide an international audience with a better understanding, thereby assisting people and organisations committed to change in the Pacific to get access to appropriate resources for their work.

The Coupled Ocean Atmosphere Response Experiment (COARE), involved many nations, more than 1 thousand scientists and technicians using ships, satellites and aircraft to intensely research the warm water pool of the far-western Pacific - the heat exchanger for Planet Earth. This experiment aimed at "... convert(ing) the high resolution data to input for the global models that will, perhaps in this century, truly unlock the mysteries of El Nino and give the world unparallaled climate predictions and diagnostic tools". Explores the establishment of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority by the Government of Australia in 1975 with the objective of protecting and managing balance between conservation and development on the Reef. It describes how the GBRMPA set out to develop strategies to manage all activities with potential impact to the Reef. Examples are provided such as; establishment of a code of anchoring, oil spill plan, and scientific research carried out by GBRMPA personnel on the Crown of Thorns Starfish.
