Climate change and its accompanying impacts is one of the most challenging and complex environmental problems now confronting the global environment and humanity. Scientific evidence and the work of the global scientific authority on climate change, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC, 2007), has shown that concentrations of Green House Gases (GHG) in the earths atmosphere have increased significantly since the industrial revolution.

PACC Project implements long -term adaptation measures to increase the resilience of a number of key development sectors in Pacific Island Countries to the impacts of climate change. This objective will be achieved by focusing on long - term planned adaptation response strategies, policies and implementation strategies to bring about this result. The key focal areas are water resources management, food production and food security, and coastal zone management.
