The NISSAP is a tool aligned with the Guidelines for Invasive Species Management in the Pacific that identifies the strategy and key actions to effectively prevent, manage and reduce the impacts of invasive species to the environment, our economy, culture and health and well-being in Tonga.

The Fourth Pacific Regional Energy and Transport Ministers’ Meeting was organised by the Pacific Community (SPC) and hosted by the Government of Samoa at the TATTE Conference Centre, Apia, Samoa from 18-20 September 2019.

This sheet accompanies the poster on building coasts for the Pacific Islands. It provides details and links to key resources that support the key messages in the poster and their practical implementation.

This compendium showcases programmes and projects from across the Pacific region that address climate change and disaster risks, through climate change adaptation (CCA), disaster risk management (DRM) and/or greenhouse gas emissions reduction. These forty case studies cover different topics across Pacific Island countries and territories (PICTs) and showcase significant work undertaken by the region to address climate and disaster related challenges and to build resilience. These actions have occurred while the regional policy frameworks on climate change (Pacific Islands Framework for Action on Climate Change 2006-2015) and DRM (Disaster Risk Reduction and Disaster Management: A Framework for Action 2005–2015) have been in effect. Both frameworks expire in 2015 and are superseded by the Strategy for Climate and Disaster Resilient Development in the Pacific (SRDP).
