Our Forests In Solomon Islands

Buying time: a user's manual for building resistance and resilience to climate change in natural system
Climate Change Resilience
Available Online
WWF
2003
As we stand at the beginning of the new millennium, the threats to nature and protected areas are unprecedented. While some progress has been made and strategies such as protected areas have been successful in preserving biodiversity in some places, new threats are arising. None of these threats is as great as global climate change and none will have such large implications for the way natural resource managers plan and implement conservation strategies.

Living planet report : 2008
Environmental Governance, Biodiversity Conservation
Available Online
WWF
2008
We have only one planet. Its capacity to support a thriving diversity of species, humans included, is large but fundamentally limited. When human demand on this capacity exceeds what is available - when we surpass ecological limits we erode the health of the Earth's living systems. Ultimately, this loss threatens human well-being.

Environmental legislation review : Republic of Palau
John Schenk
,
Pulea, Mere
1994
This Environmental Legislation Review for the Republic of Palau was carried out in Palau from February 23 to March 2, 1994. The Review is part of the South Pacific Regional Environment Programme's (SPREP) National Environmental Management Strategy (NEMS) project undertaken in seven Pacific Island countries. One component of the NEMS project is providing an inventory, description and assessment of laws relevant to the environment to enable governments to make their own decisions on the standards of environmental legislation required and set the pace for appropriate reforms. This Review follows a similar format to those undertaken in other countries under the NEMS project and the SPREP Regional Environment Technical Assistance (RETA) programme.
