The South Pacific has known for many different kinds of conflict since the beginning of contact with Westerners. Rebellion the action taken by oppressed people against their oppressors, is a special kind of conflict which is defined throughout this book as the willingness of a group of people to use force political or economic as well as armed through collective mobilisation and action against domination and exploitation.
