Trees are one of the most magnificent forms of life to be found in the world. Among them are the largest and longest living of God's creatures. Until stone-age man began their destruction several thousand years ago, they were the most widespread type of vegetable life. They have been so important to man, as his uses for timber have multiplied, that many species are now in danger, and, life all the world's resources, the forests must now be husbanded with care.
