The Standards and Certification Programme for Phasing out SUPs in the Pacific Islands Tourism Industry were developed in partnership with SPTO and the Australian Government-funded Pacific Ocean Litter Project, implemented by the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP). The Standards & Certification Programme aims to raise awareness of sustainable plastic alternatives and advocate for the adoption of these alternatives within tourism businesses in the Pacific.

This webinar is convened by the Pacific Climate Change Centre (PCCC) the ISCCR project, and the Pacific Community (SPC) through the Pacific Climate Change Innovation lounge, as part of the PCCC's ongoing webinar series. THe session explores the transformative potential of Earth Observation (EO) technologies, including satellite data, in supporting climate change resilience across Pacific Island Countries (PICs). It brings together experts and practitioners to discuss how EO tools can inform decision-making, strengthen partnership, and enhanced climate change adaptation strategies tailored to the unique challenges of the Pacific region.

🌿Working with Nature for Community Climate Adaptation: A Guide for Facilitating Community Discussions on Nature-based Solutions in Pacific Islands 🌊 This one-hour hybrid webinar event will introduce the Guide, which was developed together with Live & Learn Environmental Education. During the event, you will hear how it can be used to spark intergenerational conversations, and show practical ways communities can reconnect with nature to build resilience to climate change.

The Pacific Regional Invasive Species Management Support Service (PRISMSS), led by SPREP, is uniting countries, donors, and partners to tackle one of the region’s greatest threats, invasive species. By fostering collaboration, sharing expertise, and scaling up action, PRISMSS is protecting biodiversity, restoring ecosystems, and strengthening climate resilience across the Pacific’s 30,000 islands. With major support from partners like New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the Adaptation Fund, PRISMSS is transforming isolated projects into region-wide programmes with measurable impact. Together, these partnerships are driving innovative, locally led solutions to safeguard the Pacific’s unique natural heritage for generations to come.
