SPREP Travel Policy 2026

To ensure that funds are spent efficiently, effectively, economically and ethically, the Finance and Administration Department ensures that the processes involving identification of needs, selection and solicitation sources, preparation and award of contract including contract administration follows the SPREP procurement principles. This includes procurement activities undertaken by the SPREP programme teams. The Finance and Administration Department is responsible for the oversight of the Procurement function within SPREP. Additionally, ensuring that the Procurement Strategy is aligned to SPREP’s strategic objectives in order to make the organisation more competitive and optimise risk management.

The Second SPREP Partnership Dialogue was hosted in Apia, Samoa under the theme of Resilient Futures: Mobilising Resources for Climate and Environment in a Shifting Donor Landscape. The Dialogue brought together Members and Partners to address the following objectives: 1.) Inform SPREP's strategic planning and programming by promoting integrated programmatic approaches informed by partner insights and investment priorities. 2.) Explore current and emerging challenges in mobilising resources for SPREP's priority areas of work. 3.) Showcase opportunities to enhance partnerships; leveraging science, innovation and technology and mainstreaming people centred approaches in particular gender, youth and traditional knowledge

The purpose of this policy is to ensure SPREP consistently integrate and apply the principles of gender equality, human rights and empowerment of women, girls, persons with disabilities, other disadvantaged groups or people in vulnerable situations in its policies, programmes, projects, processes and operations.

This Annual Report notes the major achievements of SPREP in supporting Pacific island countries and territories to address issues relating to: biodiversity and ecosystem management, waste management and pollution and environmental monitoring and governance
