With interviews from Colyn Lympus and Wes Ward, George Belau (Leader of Marine Turtle Research Programme of National Marine & Fisheries Service, Hawaii), and Moses Biliki and Singo Mahinti of the Solomon Islands Division of Environment & Conservation. Biliki & Mahinti comment on the establishment of a Marine Conservation Area, now known as the Arnavon Marine Conservation Project. Ed Mayer (Solomon Islands Field Representative for Nature Conservancy) believes the project to be a good model for other conservation projects around the Pacific.

This is a special edition on Waste Disposal, providing information from islands of the South Pacific with disposal problems. There is also information on Kiribati, Tuvalu, and Tonga in relation to efforts established to address this problem. Their is also mention of SPACCHE and the role it plays in the South Pacific in dealing with environmental issues.

Problems in the Pacific Islands environment covers a number of environmental problems facing many Pacific Islands. These problems range from waste disposal, water pollution, and soil erosion. Problems such as these makes it more than necessary to achieve sustainable living methods to ensure that these problems are minimised and resources are available for future generations.

Areas covered are; coral growth, description of various coral species, and the impact of human activities resulting in their destruction.

Forests of the Solomon Islands are disappearing at an alarming rate. These forests support an abundance of unique bird, animal, and plant species native to Solomon Islands. This audio presentation describes how forests are most useful to not only humans but animal and bird species, as well as problems facing Solomon Island forests which is largely the result of logging which has created problems such as soil erosion, bird and animal species extinction, and loss of valueable plants with medicinal value.
