Abstract

An audio presentation by David Jagger, discussing the Namosi Copper Mine in Fiji, coral bleaching, and a new set of environmental guidelines on coral harvesting published by SPREP. Ian Williams of the Plaza Pacific Cooperate Communications speaks about the Namosi Copper Mine and a response to claims of unsafe waste disposal. Dr. Gulberg, Consultant for Greenpeace International is the author of the Greenpeace Report on Coral Bleaching in French Polynesia. He explains reasons for this occurrence. Finally, a new set of environmental guidelines on harvesting of corals was published by SPREP. This booklet discusses steps for a more sustainable development of corals.
