Abstract
The Tourism Industry remains to be one of the biggest income earning industries for Pacific Islands. This discussion between Carolyn Court and members of the Industry concentrates on the new International trends in Tourism. Dennis Glennan (Chairman of Environmental Management Industry Association of Australia), talks about the types of tourists pushing for a more "environmentally aware tourism Industry". Jefferey Lipman (World Travel Council), discusses the "green globe scheme", a scheme which provides information about the best ways to look after tourist sites while bringing in tourists. Richard Kearson talks about the Malu Island Tourism venture. Finally, Dr. Windy Graig (Exe. Director of GBRMPA), explains some of the key issues affecting planning tourism schemes in marine and coastal zones.
