Abstract
Pacific sea turtles are facing extinction. Too many turtles are being caught and killed for their eggs, meat and shell. In many Pacific Islands countries turtles used to be sacred animals which were used only for special ceremonies. These traditional controls on turtle use have nearly all disappeared. Now turtle shell products for the tourist trade also increases the threat to their survival. Too many turtles are killed before they even have the chance to breed as it takes 20-50 years before they can lay eggs. 1995 is the year of the Sea Turtle in the Pacific. Watch this video to see how you can help our turtle family to survive. Save turtles for our children, kill fewer or none at all.
