Abstract

In the 20 years since the United Nations convened the Conference on Human Environment, concern has been mounting over the continuous deterioration of the global environment and economic development in the developing countries. Should this disruption of global ecological and economic balances continue, it would jeopardize the Earth's life-sustaining qualities and eventually lead to both ecological and economic catastrophe.
