Forum Economic Ministers Meeting : petroleum economic issues held in Nadi,Fiji on 7-8 July 1998 ; Session 2 Background Paper.

The Forum Island Countries are heavily dependant on petroleum product imports, the cost of which have a significant on their price structuress, including input costs for other business activity. This paper, prepared by the Forum Secretariat, addresses security of supply, factors that impact directly on petroleum product prices, and other implications of fuel use, such as on the environment. Suggestions are made on how to optimise policy to address such issues.
