CCOP/SOPAC-IOC Workshop on Coastal Processes in the South Pacific Island Nations

The workshop expressed its concern about the likely implications to the Pacific island nations of an acceletated rise in eustatic sea level expected to occur during the next century, and recommended that the CCOP/SOPAC and the IOC undertake an assessment of the probable impacts of sea level fluctuations on the land and its coastal resources, and assemble information to enable the production of Sea Level Hazard Assessment Maps and contingency plans
