In this report, Carolyn Court discusses three issues. She first speaks about environmental concerns in French Polynesia, conversing with Gabriel Tatiarahi (National Coordinator of Hiti Tau). Tatiarahi explains the main environmental concerns of French Polynesia and the work of non-government organisations. Still on French Polynesia, she speaks to Pat Hutchings (Principle Research Scientist) at the Australian Museum, who describes major threats to French Polynesian reefs beginning with natural events. Lastly, she talks to two Australian Environmental Activists, Janis Lane of the Wilderness Society and Felicity Wilsart, who explain reasons behind having this conference called "Women and the Environment" in Melbourne.

A discussion of the United Nations project in Fiji and the findings of the State of the Marine Environment Report for Australia. The United Nations funded project develops environmental awareness and improve conditions in squatters and low income dwelling areas in Suva. Carolyn Court speaks to Isaua Kavulavula who explains the goal of the project and how it operates, while Kerry Straphy of SPACHE discusses the importance of community involvement. On the second issue, Dr. Ian Mcfayll (Chairman of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority - GBRMPA), speaks about the report on the state of the marine environment. This report is part of a large project called Ocean Rescue 2000.

A series of interviews conducted between Carolyn Court and various officers on the abovementioned issues (see Title). Penny Winsley explains the importance of the Berlin meeting and issues surrounding the global response to climate change, while Gabriel Tetriarahi describes the push for research studies on the health and environmental problems associated with nuclear testing. Alan Wyer of the New York Lawyers Committee discusses a visit to Japan for Bikini Day, while Lenio Abon, one of the affected victims from Rongolap Island, recounts his experience of the tests and the consequences.

At the South Pacific Forum held in Brisbane, Solomon Islands Prime Minister announced that his Government has suspended the licence of a logging company in the Marova Lagoon Area, which has been proposed for Conservation. This is a discussion of issues relating to this establishment, including an interview from Seri Hitae from Miju Village who resigned from his possition in the local Government to rally against logging activities within the Community. Carolyn Court also speaks to Peter Hanam of WWF, who are helping to facilitate community utilisation of it's resources. We also hear from a Solomon Islander (Robert Ladi), who was part of a group who travelled to the Great Barrier Reef of Australia and their impression of this Marine Reserve.

A report on the illegal export of endangered giant clams in Solomon Islands bound for overseas markets, and the Year of the Sea Turtle Campaign undertaken by SPREP and the Fiji Department of Environment and Conservation. Carolyn Court speaks to Robert Walter of the Solomon Islands Fisheries regarding this discovery which found a Taiwanese Company trying to export endangered giant clams. Hoseki Badibasangha and Wes Ward of SPREP, comment on the Year of the Sea Turtle Campaign, discussing activities involved and the roles of SPREP and the Fiji Department of Environment and Conservation in this undertaking.

An audio presentation reviewing three issues. These are; Solomon Island Ambassador to the United Nations, Rex Heroy, talking about a push by small islands to strengthen the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Another is a discussion of a report by Prof Dale Jannensen, reviewing Industrialised countries 'inaction'in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The last part of this report focuses on the work of Non Government work in French Polynesia, with a vanilla plantation project helping to employ young people on sustainable agricultural projects.

This audio presentation contains information regarding "Operation Taramea" carried out in the Cook Islands which is described as a local operation to rid coral reefs of the Crown of Thorns Starfish. Carolyn Court also reports on the Fiji Cabinet approval of Environmental Legislation. This is described by Acting Director of the Fiji Environment Department, Apeli Nasome, during an interview as a comprehensive integrated legislation. Lastly, West New Britain correspondent Mr. Rovi discusses the Marine Biological Survey Report of Gindi Bay of the West New Britain province in Papua New Guinea.
