Current data measurements were collected off Motutoa and Avarua Harbour with the help of current meters, drogues and rhodamine dye. This study was carried out for the proposal of a sewer outfall in Avarua.

Current meters and drogues were deployed in Avarua Harbour, Avatiu and Motutoa to gather data for a proposed sewer-outfall system. This was carried out for a month at high and low tides and for all four phases of the moon.

Current meters and drouges were placed around Muri Lagoon and in Ngatangiia Harbour to map out the flushing and circulation patterns and to determine whether flushing needs to be improved to maintain or enhance water quality. These were carried out to help in the decision-making on the implementation of a harbour development plan.
