Like other regional projects, ClimSA faced variables beyond its control, particularly in planning national-level activities. With the easing of travel restrictions, numerous other projects targeting similar beneficiaries have impacted ClimSA's ability to achieve planned activities within the anticipated timeframe. Nevertheless, significant progress has been made. The core project team has employed adaptive management strategies to continue striving for successful implementation.

The Pacific BioScapes Programme is providing support to implement the Pacific Coral Reef Action Plan 2021-2030. Developed with SPREP’s members and adopted in September 2021 at the 30th SPREP meeting, the plan enables leaders of Pacific Island countries, coral-reef managers and community members to coordinate their efforts and access resources to protect these valuable ecosystems.

Through BioScapes, turtle extinction risk assessments from the Pacific-European Union Marine Partnership (PEUMP) programme will be utilised to develop regional threat reduction activities for five species of marine turtles. National turtle monitoring coordinators will be established to improved national monitoring and awareness raising for turtle conservation. A network of long-term turtle nesting survey sites will be established in selected Pacific Island countries.
