Threadfin butterflyfish. Yellow posterior with black spot on softer part of its dorsal fin and a black band through the eye. Found from East Africa, Red sea, to Indo-Pacific and Polynesia.

Genus belonging to the green algae group. Occurs in both Carribean and the Indo-Pacific region. Important in the making of sand.

Crown-of-thorns sea star. Feeds on coral polyps. Occurs througout the tropical region, among the corals.

Graeffe's sea cucumber. Found on sand or rubble areas of the coral reef. Vary in colour from a basic light green to a light brown.

Banded/striped sea-urchin. Found from the Indian Ocean to the Red sea and from Hawaii and Tahiti. Confined to shadowy recesses within the reef. About 250mm of 10in adult size.

Acropora coral. Affected by dense algal growth which is a result of the territorial behaviour of damselfish.
