The Pacific Territories Regional Project for Sustainable Ecosystem Management (PROTEGE) is a regional cooperation project for 4 overseas countries and territories (OCTs) of the Pacific. The project is funded under the 11th EDF (European Development Fund) with an amount of 36 million EUR over the period 2018-2022.

Pacific coastal areas have been targeted for tourism development due to their sandy beaches, favourable climates, distinctive cultural settings and attractive snorkelling, diving and surfing, boating wildlife watching and fishing opportunities.

For the purpose pf this report the Oceania Region was Organized by the regional vice chairs to contain 25 chapters conspiring 15 Sea turtle Regional Management Unit

Five turtle species from seven regional management units (RMUs) inhabit the waters of 12 different countries in the East Pacific (EP) Ocean region.
